The care of your comforter insert directly affects sleep quality and its lifespan. Different materials require significantly different care methods. The core of scientific care lies in "moisture prevention, avoiding direct sunlight, minimizing washing, and frequent ventilation." Below are specific care guidelines for mainstream comforter insert materials:

General Care Principles (Applicable to all comforter inserts)

Use a duvet cover: Use a pure cotton or Tencel duvet cover to reduce direct contact with stains and sweat, and decrease the frequency of washing.

Regular ventilation: Do not fold the comforter immediately after waking up each week. Open the windows for ventilation for 30 minutes to allow moisture to dissipate and prevent the growth of mites.

Avoid heavy pressure: When storing for long periods, do not place it at the bottom of a wardrobe or use vacuum compression bags (especially for down and silk comforters) to avoid fiber damage and loss of fluffiness.

Insect prevention treatment: You can place natural camphor balls or tea tree oil sachets inside, but camphor balls should never be used on silk comforters to prevent yellowing.

Detailed Care Guidelines by Material

1. Down Comforters
Washable: Recommended washing every 1-2 years. Use a neutral detergent, select the "delicate" cycle on your washing machine, and place in a laundry bag.

Do not dry clean: Chemical solvents will damage the down's natural oils, causing it to become brittle and lose its fluffiness.

Do not expose to direct sunlight: Ultraviolet rays will damage the protein structure, causing fiber aging and yellowing. It is recommended to air dry in a well-ventilated, shady place for 1-2 hours.

Drying Tips: When tumble drying at a low temperature (≤60℃), place a few clean tennis balls inside to help the down regain its fluffiness.

2. Silk Comforters
Do not wash or dry clean: For localized stains, gently wipe with a neutral detergent, then clean with a damp cloth dipped in water, and air dry naturally in a well-ventilated, shady place.

Avoid direct sunlight: Silk is a protein fiber; prolonged exposure to sunlight will cause fiber breakage and yellowing. If dehumidification is needed, air dry in weak sunlight in the morning or afternoon for no more than 2 hours.

Routine maintenance: Shake the comforter weekly to restore the elasticity of the internal fibers and maintain its fluffiness and warmth.

Storage tips: Be sure to dry the comforter before storing it. Wrap it in a dark cloth to prevent yellowing. Do not compress it.
