After changing to new bedding, proper cleaning and maintenance can not only remove production residues and ensure health, but also extend its lifespan and improve sleep comfort. Here are cleaning and maintenance guidelines for different materials and seasons:

New Bedding Must Be Washed Before First Use
Newly purchased duvet covers, sheets, and other bedding may contain residual formaldehyde, dyes, wrinkle-resistant agents, and other chemicals from the manufacturing process. Direct use may irritate the skin or cause allergic reactions.

Suggested Practices:

Use a neutral detergent and hand wash or machine wash once in cold water or lukewarm water below 30℃;
Add a small amount of white vinegar (half a cup) to help neutralize alkaline residues and soften fibers;
Rinse thoroughly and air dry in a well-ventilated area, avoiding direct sunlight.

Clean According to Material to Avoid Damage
Different materials have different requirements for water temperature, washing methods, and drying conditions. Incorrect handling can lead to shrinkage, hardening, fading, and other problems.

1. Pure Cotton (Most Common)

Water Temperature: Not exceeding 40℃ to prevent shrinkage;

Washing: Machine washable with neutral detergent, wash inside out to reduce fading;

Drying: Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent fiber aging. Air dry in a cool, well-ventilated place.

2. Silk/Silk Fabrics

Water Temperature: Below 30℃;

Washing: Dry clean recommended; if hand washable, gently hand wash with a special silk and wool detergent. Do not machine wash;

Drying: Lay flat to air dry in the shade. Do not wring or expose to direct sunlight to prevent hardening and yellowing.

3. Down Comforters

Washing: Hand washable but avoid dry cleaning, as dry cleaning chemicals will damage the insulation;

Washing: Machine wash with neutral detergent on a gentle cycle;

Drying: Lay flat or hang to dry. Do not wring. Tumble dry on a low temperature (below 30℃). Avoid direct sunlight.

4. Latex/Memory Foam Pillow

Cleaning: Do not wash with water! Wipe surface stains with a damp cloth;

Cleaning: Regularly vacuum dust from crevices;

Air Drying: Avoid direct sunlight; allow to air dry in a well-ventilated area.
